Mark Knopfler is a British guitarist, singer
and songwriter born in Glasgow - Scotland -
August 12, 1949. Mark Knopfler is best known
as being the leading guitarist and vocalist in the British rock
band, Dire Straits formed in 1977
by Mark Knopfler and his brother David. The last Dire Straits
album was produced in 1991 and since Knopfler
has continued to record and produce albums as a solo artist,
under his own name. Mark Knopfler has performed with other famous
artists like Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, Chet Atkins, B.B.
King, Tina Turner, Emmylou Harris etc. and given numerous
concerts all over the world. |
