K. D. Lang (Kathryn Dawn Lang) – Grammy awarded Canadian singer and songwriter born 1961.

Since college KD Lang was fascinated by the music of country singer Patsy Cline and was at that time determent to pursue a career as a professional song writer and singer. Her first album from 1983 - Friday Dance Promenade - was shortly followed up by her second album - A Truly Western Experience - in 1984. KD Lang’s career received a huge boost when legendary Roy Orbison chose her to record a duet of his standard, "Crying", that won them the Grammy Award for Best Country Collaboration with Vocals. In 2003, she won her fourth Grammy Award, this time for Best Traditional Pop Vocal Album for her alliance with Tony Bennett, and their album A Wonderful World, which was a tribute to legendary Louise ”Satchmo” Armstrong. Her newest album - Watershed - has been released in 2008 with great success.
