Copenhagen is known as an very expensive city - but
there are some good bargains around town
Even though Copenhagen has the status of being one of
the most expensive cities in the world
- with 25% VAT on all products and
services - one can as a tourist or visitor find some
good bargains - here - there and everywhere
in the city. For our web-users convenience - we have
made an evaluation of the average prices
in Danish Kroner for everyday consumer goods
in Copenhagen supermarkets - gas
stations - hotels etc.. The
prices are subject to daily offers and bargains - which
can vary from store to store depending on different
products - brands and offers. The following information
is just meant to give our web-users an indication of
the price level in Copenhagen for comparison of similar
products in their own country.

The
new Socialist Governments new taxes - as from December
2011
As the new socialist government in Denmark
is desperate to find sources for generating more revenue
as it possibly can - new taxes was
recently enacted from December 2011
on saturated fats - candy - beer - wine - cigarettes
etc. The new taxes are set to rake in about
5.5 billion DKK. The government claims
that the heavy taxes - is due to the peoples
health - but this pathetic concern does not
worry the cunning Danes - as they just drive to
Germany or Sweden - and fill
their food carts with all the taxed stuff - and save
about 30-40% on these trips.
