01/01 - Free Skating Rink - Valby
The traditional skating rink at Kongens Nytorv is closed until 2018 - due to the Metro expansion. The new free skating rink has moved to Valby at Toftegårds Plads. Skate free on ice and experience the 1500 m2 big skating rink and skate as many times as you wish. You can also hire skates for the entire family in all sizes. Bus 18 - 132 - 133 - 1A and 4A will take you right there.


01/01 - National Gallery 2013 - Free entrance
At a beautiful location in the park area at Østre Anlæg in central Copenhagen - near the Nørreport and Østerport stations - you will find Statens Museum for Kunst - Denmark's National Gallery.All year round the collections at Statens Museum for Kunst consist of the Royal Collection of Paintings and Sculpture, the Royal Collection of Prints and Drawings, and the Royal Cast Collection. Statens Museum for Kunst presently owns approx. 9,000 paintings and sculptures, 300,000 drawings and prints, and more than 2,600 plaster casts. Nearly 3,000 works are on exhibition in the museum and there is free entry to the public.

Andy Warhol - Early Drawings constitute an exceptional collection of fine drawings showing what an outstanding draughtsman Warhol was. Many of the drawings are of a sketch-like character with subjects which the artist, with his acute eye, selected and traced from newspapers and magazines and transformed with his simple line into images. The collection can be seen at Louisiana from January 8th to 21st February - 2013.

The National Dance Company of Ireland - Rhythm of the Dance - presents the spectacular Irish Dance and Musical Stage Show. 20/02 - JACKSON 5 - Falconer Concert Hall
The remaining four Jackson brothers have gathered Jackson 5 on a Reunion Tour to honour their famous brother Michael Jackson - and will give a concert at the Falconer Concert Hall - as well as presenting all of their favourite songs during the past - plus their eminent stage performances. The legendary Jackson 5 Motown band was formed in 1964 - and continued until 1990 - even after Michael Jackson started his solo career.


24/02 - SLASH - Falconér Concert Hall
Guns N' Roses guitar legend Slash (Saul Hudson) will visit Copenhagen together with his band-mates Myles Kennedy and The Conspirators - and will give a concert at the Falconer Concert Hall. The ”Slash” tour follows the release of Slash's No.4 US album Apocalyptic - which has sold over 100,000 copies in the UK alone. The British-American musician and songwriter Slash was the former lead guitarist of the American hard rock band Guns N' Roses - with whom he achieved worldwide success in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Slash is famous for performing long sizzling and dreamy guitar solos on his Gibson Les Paul guitars - plus demonstrating his fantastic and improvised guitar riffs techniques.

English singer-songwriter Jessie Ware signed to PMR Records - and best known for her 2012 single "Wildest Moments” will perform at Vega and give a concert for all of her fans. She has sung vocals for SBTRKT in concert and on their recordings too.

08/03 - 09/03 - PROCOL HARUM - Falconér Concert Hall
The legendary Procol Harum - formed in 1967 - is on the road again - and will visit Copenhagen in March 2013 - to give two concerts for their many fans together with the Danish National Concert Orchestra and Choir conducted by David Firman. The prominent and progressive British rock band with Gary Brooker - Geoff Whitehorn - Geoff Dunn - Matt Pegg and Josh Phillips will revive some of their greatest hits like “A Whiter Shade of Pale” - “A Salty Dog” - “Conquistador” - and others songs from the bands latest albums.


12/03 - EMELI SANDÉ - Vega House of Music
Emeli Sandé is a genuin R&B recording artist and songwriter from Scotland - who will give a concert at Vega and her album Our Version of Events peaked at number one in the UK - soon after its release in February 2012. In 2012 she performed in both the Opening and Closing ceremonies of the London Olympics.

Denmark’s Aquarium will move to a brand new and larger ultra modern and ocean-inspired sea resort called The Blue Planet - which will be officially inaugurated on March 22nd - 2013. 20/04 - JUSTIN BIEBER - Parken Stadium
The world’s most famous teenager idol at the present is Justin Bieber - Canadian singer-songwriter - musician and actor. Bieber was discovered in 2008 by American talent manager Scooter Braun - who came across Bieber's videos on YouTube - and later became his manager. Bieber has received numerous awards - including Artist of the Year at the 2010 American Music Awards - and was nominated for Best New Artist and Best Pop Vocal Album at the 53rd Grammy Awards. Justin Bieber will visit Copenhagen on his Believe Tour in April 2013 - and give a concert for all of his old and new fans - performing some of his new songs from his third studio album.


May - 2013

01/05 - The Danish Resistance Museum 2013- Free entrance
The museum tells the story of Danish resistance during Nazi occupation 1940-1945. It springs from an exhibition called Fighting Denmark, arranged by the Resistance Council in the summer of May 1945. In 1957 a permanent museum was opened on the present location. The exhibition you see today was inaugurated in 1995.

Legendary "The Boss" - Bruce Springsteen will together with his famous support group E Street Band be back again in Copenhagen in 2013 - after the very successful 3-hour concert at the Roskilde Festival 2012. Bruce Springsteen will give a concert in connection with his - The Wrecking Ball Tour” - at the Parken Stadium - and play many of his great rock’n’roll and blues hits - as well from his latest album “Working On A Dream”. 18/05 - COPENHAGEN CARNIVAL 2013 - Whitsun Festival
The Carnival of Copenhagen is a major event of the year - but even so - it has sized down the ambitions of being a 3 day event to only a 1 day arrangement - on May 18 2013. There will be a lot of fun - music - workshops and performance. During the carnival period - there are two parades. 30 bands will entertain the dancers and audience during the Carnival at the new Ørestad location.

Danish Beer enthusiast arrange every year their annual Copenhagen Beer Festival - where all players from the Danish brewery industry and minor micro breweries - as well as foreign beer breweries - meet to present their beers - and where the audience can taste as mush as they like of the different beer types and sorts. The beer festival 2013 - will be held at the Carlsberg - Tap 1. Super diva - singer - songwriter - dancer and actress Beyoncé - will visit Copenhagen on her ”The Mrs. Carter Show World Tour” - and perform live for all of her fans at a concert at Forum. On January 21 - 2013 - Beyoncé performed the American national anthem at President Barack Obama's second inauguration - held at the United States Capitol in Washington - D.C.. Beyoncé earned six Grammys in 2010 - breaking the record for most Grammy Awards won by a female artist in one night. Beyoncé fourth solo album - 4 (2011) - became her fourth consecutive number one album on the Billboard 200 as a solo artist. This made her the third artist in the chart's history to have her first four studio albums debut atop the chart.

To explore these issues in depth, some 500 foundations and partners will convene in Copenhagen, Denmark, for the 24th EFC Annual General Assembly and Conference. Specifically they will discuss the role that our sector can and should play to ensure a sustainable urban future.


31/05 - EROS RAMAZOTTI - Forum Copenhagen
Eros Ramazzotti will visit Copenhagen on his tour: ”NOI World Tour 2013” - and give a concert to follow the release of his newest album ”NOI” - which will be released November 13th on Universal Music. Eros Ramazzotti - is an Italian musician and singer-songwriter - who is enormously popular in Italy - and also well known in most non-English-speaking European countries - and especially in the Spanish-speaking world - as he has released most of his albums in both Italian and Spanish. Since 1984 - he has released 11 studio albums - and sold over 40 million records in his 25-year career.

01/06 - EFC CONFERENCE 2013 - BELLA CENTER
Today more than half the world’s population lives in cities, no doubt due to the fact that 70% of the world’s GDP is generated within urban areas. A rapid growth in urbanisation brings many challenges, not least around housing, employment, education, cultural heritage, mobility, urban planning and the environment. To explore these issues in depth, some 500 foundations and partners will convene in Copenhagen, Denmark, for the 24th EFC Annual General Assembly and Conference. Specifically they will discuss the role that our sector can and should play to ensure a sustainable urban future.


01/06 - 31/08 - Harbour Bathing 2013 - Copenhagen Harbours
Since June 2002 the Copenhageners no longer need to visit the beaches in the summer season outside of the city to have a fresh swim in crystal clean blue water - as the bathing water around the harbour area has reached a quality equal to the bathing water at the many blue flag beaches on the coastline of Copenhagen. Two free outdoor bathing sites - right in the centre of town - in the harbour area have been established. The stationary bathing facility at Islands Brygge - with a capacity for roughly 600 people - opened in June 2002 near Langebro - and the floating harbour swim bath called Copencabana - close to the shopping mall Fisketorvet - with three basins that cover more than 650 square meters. The bathing facilities have life savers constantly on duty and both bathing places have from the very beginning been a great success. The Opening of the harbour bathing season is from June 1st to August 31st and is a great yearly tradition. Come and join the Copenhageners from 07:00 am to 07:00 pm on weekdays - and Saturday and Sundays from 11:00 am to 07:00 pm.

05/06 - CONSTITUTION DAY (Grundlovsdag) - 5 June - Denmark
The anniversary of signing the first Danish constitution of 1849 - which established Denmark as a constitutional monarchy. Constitution Day is a public holiday and most shops in Denmark are closed. The day is also Father's Day in Denmark. The Danes just love celebrating their "Grundlovsdag" - which is connected with many political speeches and other types of leisure activities all over Denmark. (Flag Day and Public holiday)


06/06 - BON JOVI - Parken Stadium
BON JOVI - will visit Copenhagen on their “Because We Can - The Tour” - and give a glittering concert at Parken Stadium - with lead singer and namesake Jon Bon Jovi - guitarist Richie Sambora - keyboardist David Bryan - and drummer Tico Torres. The American rock band were formed in 1983 - and have recorded numerous albums. Bon Jovi fans can look forward to hear the bands newest album - "What About Now" - which was released in April 2013.


08/06 - 11/06 - European Society of Ophthalmology 2013 - Copenhagen
The European Society of Ophthalmology 2013 will take place at Bella Center in Copenhagen - and offers an unsurpassed scientific programme with an outstanding set of speakers - covering all topics of ophthalmology - designed in collaboration with the European subspecialty research and educational organisations.

The Parken Stadium in Copenhagen is hosting a spectacular music event as Depeche Mode will be playing a live dazzling Depeche Mode concert that will lift the roof of the Danish national stadium.

The Classic boat race - Around Zealand Regatta 2013 - starts and ends at Elsinore port. The sailing ships can be seen from Copenhagen's coast. The race is a national event and experience lasting 2-3 days and covers a course of 232 nautical miles around Zealand. Timezone: Europe - Copenhagen.

23/06 - SANKT HANS EVE 2013 - Celebrate it with the Danes
Sankt Hans Aften (St. John’s Eve) was a official religious holiday in Denmark until 1770 - and has since the time of the Vikings been a Danish tradition of celebrating the Midsummer with bonfires and speeches all over the country in the evening of 23th June - 2013. Especially on the coastline of Denmark bonfires are lit to celebrate the midsummer month - and a great tradition is to sing “midsommervisen” – the Midsummer Hymn by Holger Drachmann – “Vi elsker vort land” - We love our Country.

Since June 2002 the Copenhageners no longer need to visit the beaches in the summer season outside of the city to have a fresh swim in crystal clean blue water - as the bathing water around the harbour area has reached a quality equal to the bathing water at the many blue flag beaches on the coastline of Copenhagen. Two free outdoor bathing sites - right in the centre of town - in the harbour area have been established. The stationary bathing facility at Islands Brygge - with a capacity for roughly 600 people - opened in June 2002 near Langebro - and the floating harbour swim bath called Copencabana - close to the shopping mall Fisketorvet - with three basins that cover more than 650 square meters. The bathing facilities have life savers constantly on duty and both bathing places have from the very beginning been a great success. The Opening of the harbour bathing season is from June 1st to August 31st and is a great yearly tradition. Come and join the Copenhageners from 07:00 am to 07:00 pm on weekdays - and Saturday and Sundays from 11:00 am to 07:00 pm.

04/07 - Rebild Festival 2013 – Rebild Nationalpark - Jutland
Every year since July 4th 1912 - thousands of Danish-Americans and their descendants - together with other Danes have joined in the celebration of the American Independence Day on the beautiful heather-covered hills at Rebild National Park in Jutland - just 20 km south of Aalborg. The Rebild Festival is also an expression of gratitude to the land which welcomed more than 300,000 Danish immigrants - and the tradition has been maintained in order to strengthen the ties of friendship between Denmark and USA. On this festival day - Stars and Stripes - and the Danish flag “Dannebrog” are flown side-by-side in natural picturesque surroundings - and as an honour to both countries. US-citizens - who are visiting Copenhagen can experience this festival in Jutland on July 4th. By train or car the trip will take about 4 hours and there is plenty of logging facilities at Rebild and in Aalborg. As a tribute to this USA – Danish Festival and as a countdown to the event - the added VIDEO performs – Strike Up the Band. Everyone can participate in this swimming competition round the 2 km canals of Christiansborg Castle 2013. The Musical is based on George and Ira Gershwin’s hit musical comedy - which is packed full of classic songs including “I Got Rhythm” - “Someone To Watch Over Me” - “Embraceable You” and “Nice Work If You Can Get It”. The original 1992 production won both the Tony and Olivier Award for Best New Musical. In the Danish version you will experience seductive music - formidable dance numbers - terrific funny scenes - and a fabulous band. Altogether a wonderful - joyful and spectacular Broadway-musical.
